Itinerary for a Perfect Day in Jacksonville
Creative Activities & Delicious Food for a Fun Day in Jax
My husband planned the PERFECT day in Jacksonville for our first wedding anniversary back in May. It was such a fun and romantic time for both of us but I also think it would be great for a girls day. I wanted to share for anyone looking for ideas for what to do in Jax for a date or even treating a friend/mom with an experience gift.
Here’s everything we did if you want some ideas for a fun day in Jax!
Breakfast with Coffee & Pastries
To start the day off right, we headed to Le Petit Paris in Atlantic Beach, the cutest french café. One thing about me is I love a good croissant! We also enjoyed vanilla lattes, quiche, and a breakfast sandwich. Perfection.
Plus, the restaurant is pretty to look at, with it’s classic french bistro chairs, fresh flowers, and colorful pillows.
Activity #1: Made our own Candles
We drove out to Wick: A Candle Bar, to make our own candles! This was so much fun and we absolutely love our candles we made. We didn’t need a reservation either. Here’s how it works:
Sniff a bunch of samples and choose some scents you like.
Decide what you want to make and pick your jar - you don’t have to make a candle; they offer options like hand soap or lotion too.
Test out any scent combinations you desire, the staff can help guide you if you feel stuck.
Name your candle and create a label for the bottom of the jar.
Pour the scents into pre-made hot wax and stir!
You need to let the candle cool completely, so we left for about 90 minutes and did some other activities (more on that below) before coming back to pick them up.
They smell SO good! I made a fresh spring/summer scent with lavender, basil, and champagne, while James made a deep fall/winter scent with bourbon, vanilla, and tobacco.
I highly recommend it - it was easy, fun, and the candles burn evenly and smell amazing.
More French Food for Lunch
For lunch, we went to the iconic French Pantry. It was our first time there, and we were not disappointed! There was a line out the door, and I can see why. The food is nothing elaborate, they serve a variety of sandwiches and desserts, however, the bread truly takes it to another level. They make their bread in house and you just have to try it for yourself to see why it’s loved by so many!
Activity #2: Made our own a Flower Bouquet
Just down the street from Wick, we visited Got Flowers Jax, a floral shop where you can create your own bouquet from their stunning selection.
The flowers are unlike anything you’d see at a grocery store (Trader Joes could never). You get to sip champagne while you browse, and the florist ensures your bouquet looks great by arranging it for you. You just get to pick out the pretty stems! So nice.
I adore how my bouquet came out, the colors and variety are just chefs kiss.
Another Parisian Meal for Dinner
We got a little dressed up and made our way over to Dwights Bistro in Jax Beach for some more French food. Can you tell I love bread? If you haven’t been yet, picture a fine-dining experience in the most quaint, cozy, and unassuming place.
We ordered a bottle of wine, ravioli, and the new york strip. I’d definitely recommend it for a special date night!
And That’s a Wrap!
That was the perfect end to a day filled with good food, drinks, and activities that fed my creativity and love of pretty things. I hope you enjoyed this and have a new place you want to try out!
Thanks for reading!
xoxo,
Hannah
